A full cross-cultural training on

LIVING IN RUSSIA

by Margarita Gokun Silver

I am lucky enough to intimately know both the Russian culture and the western mindset. I was born in what used to be the USSR — in Moscow — and I moved to the United States as a young adult.  After completing my education in one of the best universities of the world, I embarked on an expatriate career.  I’ve been moving around — working and living in different countries — ever since.

Recently I was fortunate to return to and live in Russia for an amazing 4 years.  The country has changed so dramatically that at first I didn’t recognize it.  But then, as I started coaching expatriates, I began to come across things that were very familiar.

My clients were stressed, frustrated, and in many cases even angry at the effects that living in Russia was producing in them.

My job is to coach professionals on expatriate and cross-cultural matters.  Success and happiness while abroad and out of your own “element” is what we focus on in coaching.  And as I worked with client after client in Russia I began to notice something — those clients who came to the country with a foundation of a cross-cultural training fared better in their levels of stress and frustration than those who came without it.

That’s when I decided to expand into cross-cultural training.  Having the benefit of truly knowing Russia and also seeing it from the point of view of an outsider, I knew I could help expats from many different countries and so…

I created a “WELCOME TO RUSSIA” course — the course that:

  • provides you with a foundation of what Russia is all about;
  • helps you understand the gap between your way of thinking and the Russian way of thinking;
  • provides extensive tools to negotiate the difference; and
  • blends cross-cultural information with a coaching approach to understanding and becoming successful in any culture.

When I started these trainings in-person, I soon realized that I can help only a handful of people, if I limit it to the in-person format.  And that’s why I decided to make “WELCOME TO RUSSIA” available on line.

So whether you are living in Russia, preparing to move there, or only take business trips — you can take WELCOME TO RUSSIA course and know what awaits you and how to deal with it.

Why we say “the first”?

Because our Cross-Cultural course is the first to successfully blend several learning approaches on-line.  We use a traditional cross-cultural model along with:

  • the co-active coaching model
  • the neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) tools
  • the systems and relationship approach

What do you get?

This “WELCOME TO RUSSIA” course consists of eight (8) chapters of information, a video file, and two audio podcasts:

  • Audio 1 and Chapter 1:  Managing Culture Shock

A unique approach to handling Culture Shock in any situation.  Three handy tools to carry with you whenever you move and go through another transition.

  • Video 2: Russian National Culture

A video-presentation featuring photos from all over Russia, accompanied by a recording that will tell you about the National Culture of Russia.

  • Chapter 2: Russian proverbs

Country’s proverbs can tell a lot about the country.  This chapter contains proverbs that will help you understand Russia.

  • Chapter 3: Russian Corporate Culture

Doing business in Russia?  Managing staff?  If you are going to work in Russia, you’d want to familiarize yourself with what changes are taking place and what remnants of the Soviet past are still intact.

  • Chapter 4: Your Cultural Blueprint

Learn about your own cultural preferences.  How do you compare to the Russians within the eleven (11) cultural variables?

  • Chapter 5: The Russian Cultural Blueprint

Learn about the Russian cultural variables.  How wide is the gap between you and them?

  • Chapter 6: Adjusting Your Cultural Habits

Manage the gap you discovered in the previous chapter.  Enjoy the variety of coaching and training exercises to close the gap and, thus, become more effective in Russia.

  • Chapter 7: Cultural Negotiation

Excellent tools for those gaps that are not easy to close!

  • Chapter 8: Facts that no one else will tell you

A very special chapter — with the information you won’t find anywhere else.

This is a wealth of information!  And it’s available to you anytime, anywhere and for the fraction of the cost.

How much does it cost?

Cross-Cultural training is usually expensive — it can run anywhere between $500 and $2000 dollars — and that’s why most of the time your company would have to provide it.  Yet companies often decide to economize on this part of the expatriate experience and very few expats get the benefit of a real cross-cultural training.

You don’t have to depend on your company anymore. The training I am offering you on-line has an introductory rate of only $89.

That’s right – since this is the first time I am offering this course on-line — you can have all this exclusive material, video, audio, and hands-on exercises for only $89!

More than 4 hours worth of information for only $89!

It’s a great deal.

AND THERE IS MORE:

There will always be people who like the person-to-person interaction and I want to make it available.  So for the remainder of this year — that is until December 31, 2010 — I will offer one (1) hour of personal cross-cultural training follow-up to anyone who purchased an on-line course for only $200 more.

Normally I charge $400 per hour for this kind of training, but to celebrate the release of this course on-line, I am making this hour available to you for only $200.

And you don’t have to buy it right away. You can buy the on-line course and you can then decide whether or not you’d like to get the additional coaching hour and discuss the results with me.  And as long as you schedule and pay for that additional session before December 31, 2010, you get this promotional price of $200 for an hour.

It doesn’t get better than that.

When does the course take place?

Your choice entirely!

The course materials are stored on a server for you to access and learn whenever you can.  There is no expiration date, no class to be late for, no time zones to negotiate.  Just log in and study.

How do I sign up?

Signing up is hassle-free! Just click HERE and you will be taken to the Global Coach Center Academy where you can enroll in the course.  Once you are there, just register for the Academy and pay with PayPal (you can choose to pay via your PayPal account or with your credit card) and that’s it.

Don’t wait. REGISTER NOW.

And remember to act before December 31, 2010 if you’d like to have follow-up personal coaching session from me at a highly discounted rate.
