A full cross-cultural training on

LIVING IN THE NETHERLANDS

by Ines Hijmans

I was lucky enough to being able to live and work abroad at an early age. It proved to be a life changing experience. I experienced how things could be dealt with differently. I got to know the ins and outs of my host country’s culture as well as learned to look at my native Dutch culture through different eyes. After that first eye-opener and enriching experience, I have been moving around ever since, studying, working and living in different countries. I try to combine the best of all the cultures I got to know intimately, both in private as well in business.

I have a background in European law and am a certified legal translator French and English. After having worked over 10 years in international and multicultural environments, I decided to combine my knowledge and experience by providing cross-cultural trainings & coaching through my company crossculturate.

Through my cross-cultural trainings & coaching, I am able to truly help expatriates with their transition into their host country’s culture and support high level executives in doing business more effectively. Crossculturate provides trainings & coaching on living & working in the Netherlands, cross-cultural training for expatriates, international business communication with the French and the British, business culture & etiquette training and international negotiations. Start enhancing your cross-cultural performance now.

When I started these trainings in-person, I soon realized that I can help only a handful of people.  And that’s why I decided to design “WELCOME TO THE NETHERLANDS”, a course available on-line.

So whether you are living in the Netherlands, preparing to move there or only take business trips — you can take “WELCOME TO THE NETHERLANDS” course and know what awaits you and how to deal with the Dutch.

I created a “WELCOME TO THE NETHERLANDS” course — the course that:

  • provides you with a foundation of what the Netherlands is all about;
  • helps you understand the gap between your way of thinking and the Dutch way of thinking;
  • provides extensive tools to negotiate the difference; and
  • blends cross-cultural information with a coaching approach to understanding and becoming successful in any culture.

Why we say “the first”?

Because our Cross-Cultural course is the first to successfully blend several learning approaches on-line.  We use a traditional cross-cultural model along with:

* the co-active coaching model

* the neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) tools

* the systems and relationship approach

What do you get?

This “WELCOME TO THE NETHERLANDS” course consists of seven (7) chapters of information, a video file, and two audio podcasts:

  • Audio 1 and Chapter 1:  Managing Culture Shock
A unique approach to handling Culture Shock in any situation.  Three handy tools to carry with you whenever you move and go through another transition.
  • Chapter 2: (Video) Dutch National Culture
A video-presentation featuring photos from all over the Netherlands, accompanied by a recording that will tell you about the national culture of the Netherlands.
  • Chapter 3: Dutch proverbs
Country’s proverbs can tell a lot about the country.  This chapter contains proverbs that will help you understand the Dutch.
  • Chapter 4: Dutch Corporate Culture
Doing business in the Netherlands?  Managing staff?  If you are going to work in the Netherlands, you’d want to familiarize yourself what you can expect when doing business with the Dutch. They have their own and unique business style affecting decision-making, the way they conduct meetings and their working style.
  • Chapter 5: Your Cultural Blueprint
Learn about your own cultural preferences.  How do you compare to the Dutch within the eleven (11) cultural variables?
  • Chapter 6: The Dutch Cultural Blueprint
Learn about the Dutch cultural variables.  How wide is the gap between you and them?
  • Chapter 7: Adjusting Your Cultural Habits
Manage the gap you discovered in the previous chapter.  Enjoy the variety of coaching and training exercises to close the gap and, thus, become more effective in the Netherlands.
  • Chapter 8: Cultural Negotiation
Excellent tools for those gaps that are not easy to close!

This is a wealth of information!  And it’s available to you anytime, anywhere and for the fraction of the cost.

How much does it cost?

Cross-Cultural training is usually expensive — it can run anywhere between $500 and $2000 dollars — and that’s why most of the time your company would have to provide it.  Yet companies often decide to economize on this part of the expatriate experience and very few expats get the benefit of a real cross-cultural training.

You don’t have to depend on your company anymore. The training we are offering you on-line has an introductory rate of only $89.

That’s right – since this is the first time we are offering this course on-line — you can have all this exclusive material, video, audio, and hands-on exercises for only $89!  More than 4 hours worth of information for only $89!

It’s a great deal.

AND THERE IS MORE:

There will always be people who like the person-to-person interaction – and I can only encourage you to do that - and I want to make it available.  So for the remainder of this year — that is until December 31, 2010 — I will offer one (1) hour of personal cross-cultural training follow-up to anyone who purchased an on-line course for only $200 more.

Normally I charge $400 per hour for this kind of training, but to celebrate the release of this course on-line, I am making this hour available to you for only $200.

And you don’t have to buy it right away. You can buy the on-line course and you can then decide whether or not you’d like to get the additional coaching hour and discuss the results with me.  And as long as you schedule and pay for that additional session before December 31, 2010, you get this promotional price of $200 for an hour.

Would you like more or do you have a specific request? Then just contact your Cross Cultural Trainer at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or take a look at our website www.crossculturate.com. Contact us and get to know what we can do for you.

It doesn’t get better than that.

When does the course take place?

Your choice entirely!

The course materials are stored on a server for you to access and learn whenever you can.  There is no expiration date, no class to be late for, no time zones to negotiate.  Just log in and study.

How do I sign up?

Signing up is hassle-free! Just click HERE and you will be taken to the Global Coach Center Academy where you can enroll in the course.  Once you are there, just register for the Academy and pay with PayPal (you can choose to pay via your PayPal account or with your credit card) and that’s it.

Don’t wait. REGISTER NOW.

And remember to act before December 31, 2010 if you’d like to have follow-up personal coaching session from me at a highly discounted rate.

Dealing with the Dutch doesn’t have to be a stressful experience.  Go prepared — get ready with our WELCOME TO THE NETHERLANDS on-line course.

STILL NOT SURE?

  • How much do you think you are worth?
