Cross-Cultural Course "LIVING AND WORKING IN THE USA"by Jennifer Kumar This course can be used as:
You will benefit from this course if you answer yes to any of the following questions:
Mastering making a good impression in our own culture seems like second nature - as we were socialized and lived there for years and years. However, as I realized after working with internationals from Asian, South American, African and European countries, this automatic conditioning is challenged when moving to another country - or even visiting for casual travel, business or training purposes. Day-to-day mannerisms may not be understood by those in other countries. Though we want to remain true to ourselves - we also want to make a good impression to those we meet - especially when the stakes are high and our livelihood and jobs depend on it.
That is why I was enthusiastic about creating this course. This is a great opportunity for me to share all the tips and guidance I have given people from India, Kenya, China, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Brazil, Finland, Japan, Sri Lanka, Eritrea, Turkey, Bangladesh and other fascinating places who have come to America and wanted help with adjusting to American culture in all its aspects. In addition to understanding the requirements of a range of newcomers to USA, I understand there are differences in other countries because in addition to working and studying in USA, I have worked, studied, and lived in India. In Kochi (Kerala) where I now live, I am able to share my education, training and life experience in giving cross-cultural courses and one-on-one training to students, professionals, and Indians moving to USA through my coaching practice, Authentic Journeys.
Making a good impression in the USA can enhance your career and personal life journey in innumerable ways. This on-line cross-cultural training will expose you to many insider tips to help you. As with any cross-cultural training, many generalizations will be made. Please refer to these as guidelines as this training offers you an introduction to a pan-American culture. America is a large, vast country covering 9,826,630 sq km in the continental USA alone. In this vast land will be many regional and personal differences. Not everyone subscribes to each and every American etiquette (as you may not subscribe to each of your culture's etiquette). You will encounter variations with the unique individuals you meet. These guidelines will help you get your foot in the door, try it on for your size and try to adapt it to your personality and way of being as far as possible - so that you can remain true to yourself while trying to relate to Americans in a way they are used to, appreciate and understand.
I am thankful to Margarita Gokun Silver for co-creating this comprehensive, user friendly, and relevant course for those wanting a holistic view of American culture that exposes you to the etiquette, values, proverbs (saying/idioms), and mindset that is imperative to appreciate to succeed in the US. Everyone has a busy schedule and doesn't necessarily have the time to spend traveling to seminars or shuffling through irrelevant information. This course is concise and you can access it any time of the day online - so you can fit it into your schedule easily and learn all you need to know in one place. Additionally, if you need extra support, you can contact me or Margarita for an additional coaching/training session.
So whether you are planning to relocate to the US, marrying an American or working with American colleagues in a global project, this course:
Two reasons:
I. If you simply want to learn about the do's and don'ts of the country, you can, in fact, buy a book or search through a variety of internet resources. However, if ...you want to know how to successfully interact with people ...you want to learn what motivates them ...you want to learn how to manage them effectively, ...you want to know how to communicate and how not to communicate,
you'll need to know their prevalent cultural blueprint as well as your own! Both will become clear to you as you test yourself through our Culture Mastery Module's 11 cultural variables and then compare your score with that of the country you are going to.
This depth of information isn't available on the internet.
You won't find that on the internet either.
• Video 2/Chapter 2: The National Culture of the USA • Chapter 3: The proverbs of the USA • Chapter 4: The Corporate Culture • Chapter 5: Culture Mastery -- Your Cultural Blueprint • Chapter 6: The US Cultural Blueprint • Chapter 7: Culture Mastery -- Adjusting Your Cultural Habits • Chapter 8: Culture Mastery -- Cultural Negotiation and Alliances Excellent tools for those gaps that are not so easy to close.

Cross-Cultural training is usually expensive — it can run anywhere between $500 and $2000 dollars — and that’s why most of the time your company would have to provide it. Yet companies often decide to economize on this part of the expatriate experience and very few expats get the benefit of a real cross-cultural training.
Business travelers and companies doing business in the US almost never get the benefit of a cross-cultural training. Yet this training is essential to their success.
That's why we have created this online course and that's why we are making it affordable. The training we are offering you on-line is available for $199. This includes FREE short e-mail consultations with the course creators in the first 30 days after purchasing the course.
